Same Sex Sexual Harassment

Same Sex Sexual Harassment is any act of sexual harassment that is committed on one victim by an individual of the same sex. Sexual harassment is a type of sex discrimination and is therefore prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. According to the Civil Rights Act, it is unlawful to make sexual advances, make requests for sexual favors, and to attempt other verbal and physical contact of a sexual nature on an individual who does not welcome such behavior. Many people still tend to think of sexual harassment in terms of males making unwanted advances on females, but that is only one form of sexual harassment. Both men and women may be either the harassers or the victims of sexual harassment. In addition, same sex sexual harassment may occur regardless of the sexual orientation of the victim or the harasser.
