Laws On Sexual Harassment

Laws on Sexual Harassment are laws that protect an individual from being discriminated against due to his or her sexual status. In addition, laws on sexual harassment protect an individual from being the victim of unwanted sexual advances from another individual. Sexual harassment often occurs in the workplace and it can occur at any level. The harasser may be the boss of the victim, but it may also be the victim's co-worker, under worker, or even a customer or other non-employee. In short, sexual harassment can occur on any level and between any two parties. Laws on sexual harassment fall under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protecting individuals from sex discrimination. Under this act, individuals are protected from unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other forms of physical or verbal harassment.
