Define Sexual Harassment

While different organizations and sources define sexual harassment differently, the most common description is unwanted sexual advances toward an indivdiual - whether physical, verbal or through body language. It also includes the offering of benefits in return for sexual favors, which is called quid pro quo sexual harassment. While it can be difficult to define sexual harassment, it often boils down to behavior which makes another person so uncomfortable or offended that they feel abused. All victims should consider what to do next when sexual harassment has happened to them. If it happened at work, they can file a claim with the EEOC, but many decide to bring a personal lawsuit against their aggressors. Contacting a sexual harassment attorney is a good idea if one is considering this.
