New York Construction Worker Files Sexual Harassment Suit

July 31, 2009

On Monday, Bianca Wisniewski filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase and other defendants for sexual harassment. According to the suit, the company failed to protect her from derogatory and inappropriate comments and actions from her male co-workers.

Wisniewski works as a safety coordinator at the construction site for JPMorgan Chase’s 270 Park Avenue location. She was assigned to the site in 2007 and says that she has experienced harassment ever since.

The suit names one defendant in particular, elevator operator Steve Greco. She says that he would often make lewd comments to her on the job site and would even go so far as to grope her. When she made complaints with her bosses, she was told that construction is “a man’s world.”

In the suit, the named defendants are: JPMorgan Chase, Total Safety, Greco and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 14. It was filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court and should be addressed in the coming weeks.
