VIPD Officer Charged With Sexual Harassment

Acting Police Commissioner James McCall confirmed today that Police Corporal Ludrick Thomas, an officer in the St. Thomas/St. John district, has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an investigation regarding a complaint filed against him by a female police officer. Corporal Thomas is alleged to have made unwanted sexual advances to the officer.

In accordance with Virgin Islands Police Department policy and Collective Bargaining procedures, Corporal Thomas will relinquish his badge and police issued firearm and identification until such time as an investigation into the allegations is completed. The investigation will be conducted by the Office of the Attorney General.

“The Police Department is committed to providing a work environment that is free from sexual harassment and other types of discriminatory actions,” says Acting Commissioner McCall. The Police Department maintains a zero tolerance policy regarding sexual harassment in the workplace.
