Sexual Harassment Workplace Policy

If you run any type of business, it is necessary to put into place a sexual harassment workplace policy. This policy should clearly state that the company has a "zero tolerance" approach toward workplace sexual harassment. Include such things as types of unacceptable behavior and the repercussions from ignoring the policy. Before you refine and post it, make sure you run it by an attorney. He or she can then ensure it conforms to the laws including the Civil Rights Act of 1963 the Civil Rights Act of 1991 and can pass the scrutiny of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Once formulated, make sure all employees in the company or business understand it and its implications. Make sure they read it. Obtain their signatures indicating they have read and accepted the policy. Post it where all can see it. If it proves necessary, translate the policy into the required languages.
