Sexual Harassment Statute

A sexual harassment statute is a law, and these are outlined in the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII. It is against the law to make unwanted advances, sexual jokes or other verbal passes, gestures or other crude sexually related acts towards any individual. Individuals who have been sexually harassed can file a complaint with the EEOC, the organization that handles sexual harassment complaints. Along with the EEOC, sexual harassment attorneys help enforce these statutes. They can be of tremendous help to victims and can help inform them as to what their rights and options are. They can also help the victim file the lawsuit and create a strategy if that's what the client wishes.
