Sexual Harassment Legal

For individuals who are victims of sexual harassment, legal recourse is available. Individuals have the right to file a complaint with the EEOC if the harassment took place at work. They can also bring a personal lawsuit against the individual(s) in a court of law. Sexual harassment legal proof is something that the plaintiff must prove in order to win the case - this includes proving that the defendant performed the offensive actions, that the plaintiff was significantly offended, and that any 'normal' individual would also feel offended if they found themselves in the same situation. Harassers will often try to retaliate against victims. However, the law protects individuals from retaliation and if an employer or teacher does retaliate, the victim can seek justice for that as well. It's important that individuals report sexual harassment and show others that there are consequences for such behavior.
