Sexual Harassment Cases in Education are common throughout every part of a child's education. It is estimated that 4 out of five children experience sexual harassment starting from elementary school. It is expected that eight out of 10 school aged children will experience sexual harassment at some point, while 25% will experience it often. Boys are more likely to physically harass, while girls are more likely to verbally harass. Six out of 10 students experience some kind of physical sexual harassment. Sexual harassment cases in education are also common in colleges. According to a report by the National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education (NCWGE), thirty percent of undergraduate and 40% of graduate students reported sexual harassment at some point. Often most sexual harassment occurs between students. Sexual harassment among peers usually occurs in the form of jokes, gestures, comments or looks, sexual messages written on bathroom walls or within locker rooms, sexual rumors, sexual pictures, photos, email, text messages, or notes. Other practices include derogatory terms, spying on an individual while showering or dressing, mooning or flashing. Physical sexual harassment takes the form of touching, pinching, spanking, or grabbing, along with pulling a person's clothing in a sexual way or down, or off, as well as the act of brushing up against the person, cornering, blocking, forcing them to kiss, or other forcing, and listing the person within a slam book with derogatory comments.
