Sexual Harassment At Workplace

Sexual harassment at workplace is against the law. There are two different types of sexual harassment that include quid pro quo and hostile environment. Quid pro quo defines the practice of offering certain benefits to individuals in exchange for sexual favors. Hostile environment defines an individual being openly hostile, abusive or offensive to another individual, without the offering of benefits. Both are prohibited by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Victims of sexual harassment at workplace should consider hiring an attorney that specializes in sexual harassment. An attorney who works with sexual harassment laws on a daily basis will be able to tell the victim whether their case is strong enough to win a lawsuit or not - as well as what their rights and options are under the law.

Fast Facts

  • Quid pro quo is the most common type of sexual harassment that occurs in the workplace.
