The term 'Quid Pro Quo' comes from the Latin meaning 'something for something.' When related to sexual harassment, quid pro quo refers to the solicitation of sexual favors in exchange for higher pay, better review scores, a higher position within the company, or some other such reward. Often, if the individual receiving the sexual solicitation rejects the advances, he or she suffers punishment in some form related to work. Typically, this type of harassment is performed by a supervisor or someone in the position of authority.
