Military Sexual Harassment

Military sexual harassment occurs when a military individual sexually harasses another. This harassment includes any unwanted sexual attention, the offering of benefits for sexual favors, hostile or sexually related offensive comments or gestures, etc. Sexual harassment is illegal and prohibited by the Civil Rights Act, Title VII. Individuals who find themselves sexually harassed in the military have the right to take action, including reporting the harasser or filing a personal lawsuit against them. The first step would be to contact a sexual harassment attorney in order to determine whether the claim would be valid in a court of law. An attorney can also help one determine the best steps to take in order to protect themselves and be in compliance with the law.
