Manager Sexual Harassment Situations

Sexual harassment that is done by a manager directed towards a subordinate is considered a manager sexual harassment situation. Many individuals (men or women) can feel belittled and not know what to do when their manager is harassing them sexually. It is important for people to know that in manager sexual harassment situations, the victim must tell the manager that the behavior is not wanted and that they would like it to stop; it is not considered sexual harassment if the manager stopped immediately upon the warning. However, in a situation where the manager will not stop, the employee has a right to escalate the situation to management and/or file a report with the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). The EEOC is the governing body that hears cases and brings forward individuals charged with sexual harassment and other at work discrimination and harassment cases.
