Sexual harassment and its implications in the workplace are taken very seriously by the employers and the courts. It can be very difficult for an individual, be it a man or woman, to report an incident of this nature. And, in each situation, it is difficult to figure out exactly how to handle sexual harassment. This is so because each and every situation is different. To handle sexual harassment, you must: Identify the situation as sexual harassment. If you are unsure if the situation is considered sexual harassment, call the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) or visit their website. b. Tell the individual that is sexual harassing you that you do not welcome the behavior and it must stop. c. If the behavior stops after the first warning then you have succeeded and it is not considered sexual harassment. If the behavior has not stopped, you must report the harassment to your manager or HR (Human Resources) department. d. The company should handle the case from there. However, if it is not being handled to your satisfaction, or you feel as though your company has done nothing, you man contact the EEOC yourself.
