Employee Discrimination Cases

Employee discrimination cases are legal cases in which a victims or a group of victims file lawsuits because due to discriminatory practices in the workplace. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits employment discrimination that occurs on the bases of race, color, sex, religion or national origin. Further, it prohibits discrimination against a person based on that person's association with a person of a certain race, color, sex, religion, or national origin. Around the same time, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) was created to regulate. Employees are protected from discrimination in many different ways. According to the Equal Pay Act, men and women must receive equal pay. Further, it is not legal to discriminate against an individual by refusing to hire, or refusing to promote he or she based on race, religion, sex, color, or national origin. Companies who discriminate against employees may be ruled to pay back damages to all persons negatively affected.
