Sexual harassment can happen between employees within an organization as well as individuals that are not a part of the same organization. Many people do not realize that a customer, vendor, client, or other visitor in a company can experience sexual harassment by one of the employees of that company. If a request for a sexual favor is given to one of these individuals by an employee of the company, and the request is denied and the individual asks again, he/she is guilty of sexual harassment. Also, if someone visiting the building overhears a sexual comment or joke, and he/she reports it, and then hears it again, they are experiencing sexual harassment. This can happen at a bar, club, office, bowling alley, or any other public place. Studies suggest that repeated customer sexual harassment can lead to rape, physical abuse, and even murder in some cases if it goes unreported.
